We spent the day putting in a small raised garden bed, filled mostly with herbs, Swiss chard, carrots and radishes that the kids can have fun pulling from the earth. I included some peonies and osteopernums for future floral inspirations for my art. I would say that it was a day well spent! We also have a 10×30 foot community garden plot for potatoes, beans, peas and such. There’s nothing like a garden to teach children about eating healthy and taking care of the environment.
